Apple Announces Creator Studio Subscription with Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro for $12.99 Monthly

Apple has announced a new subscription bundle, Creator Studio, which packages six of its professional creative applications with premium content for its iWork suite. The service is scheduled to launch on January 28 for $12.99 per month or $129 annually, with a one-month free trial available to all new subscribers.

The bundle provides access to Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, and Pixelmator Pro on both Mac and iPad, in addition to the Mac-only applications Motion, Compressor, and MainStage. Subscribers will also receive premium features within Keynote, Pages, and Numbers. Apple confirmed that Freeform will be added to the bundle for iPhone, iPad, and Mac at a later date.

New Application Features

Coinciding with the announcement, Apple detailed a series of updates to the included creative software. Final Cut Pro for Mac and iPad will gain a Transcript Search feature to locate specific soundbites and a Visual Search function that finds moments based on descriptive text. The iPad version of Final Cut Pro is set to receive a Montage Maker for initiating edits and an Auto Crop tool for reframing content.

Logic Pro will be updated with a Synth Player, Chord ID, and a new sound library, along with a natural language search capability. For the iWork suite, a Creator Studio subscription unlocks a “Content Hub” in Pages, Numbers, and Keynote, offering a collection of high-quality photos, graphics, and illustrations. Beta features will also be available, including tools in Keynote for generating presentation drafts from text outlines and a Magic Fill feature in Numbers that uses pattern recognition to complete tables.

Expanded Access and Pricing

The Creator Studio bundle marks the first time Pixelmator Pro, an image editing application from a company Apple acquired in 2024, will be available on the iPad. The subscription also includes Motion, a tool for 2D and 3D motion graphics, and Compressor, which integrates with Final Cut Pro to manage output settings.

“Apple Creator Studio is a great value that enables creators of all types to pursue their craft and grow their skills by providing easy access to the most powerful and intuitive tools for video editing, music making, creative imaging, and visual productivity — all leveled up with advanced intelligent tools to augment and accelerate workflows.” — Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services

For college students and educators, Apple will offer the bundle at a reduced rate of $2.99 per month or $29.99 per year. The company clarified that the professional creative apps will continue to be sold as individual one-time purchases on the Mac App Store. The standard, free versions of Pages, Numbers, Keynote, and Freeform will also remain available.
